Membership

MEANING OF MEMBERSHIP

We are glad you are considering membership at the North Shore Unitarian Church! Membership is the beginning of a life-changing journey, where you are invited to live more deeply, faithfully, and generously. It is an opportunity to join with a community of others who are seeking meaning and fellowship. As a member you may become involved in a number of activities, but generally membership entails these three commitments:

1. Regularly joining us at worship, committing to come each Sunday possible. Weekly worship cements the bonds of community, and keeps our attention directed to our highest values, while nurturing our spirits.

2. Making financial contributions that meaningfully support the mission of the congregation. This is accomplished through pledging. You can make a pledge on the “Donate” part of our website (under “Give”).

3. Contributing time and talent. Congregations work because their members find ways to give of themselves, whether through singing, financial management, educating children, sharing their passion for social justice, organizing, cooking, or greeting—the list of tasks goes on. Finding ways to give back nurtures your soul and supports your growth.

If you are contemplating membership or hoping to become better connected with the congregation, join us for a Newcomer Orientation. There you will have the opportunity to learn more about Unitarian Universalism, our church, and how to become involved. Sign up for our Newsletter to learn about upcoming orientations.
