Music plays a vital role in the life of our church. It is central to our Sunday worship service and is a vital element in many of the church’s social gatherings. Our music program consists of professional singers, an adult choir, and a children’s choir. Many musicians in the congregation, both professionals and dedicated amateurs, offer their services throughout the year. Some of the Chicago area’s finest professional musicians are featured in a Concert Series on select Sunday afternoons. Our Music Director, Stephen Blackwelder, welcomes participation in the choir. Contact him at musicdirector at nsuc dot org.
Junior Choir is an opportunity for young Unitarian Universalists to learn about music and hopefully cultivate a lifelong spiritual practice of singing! Everyone in kindergarten through 8th grade is welcome to participate. Junior Choir meets on Sundays after church. Timothy Mah is the Junior Choir Director, and you can contact him at pianist at nsuc.org.
