Our History & Sanctuary

Learn about NSUC History.

Welcome to our unique church building! The main church building was completed in 1961 by John Holland and Associates. The Sanctuary was then added in 1969 and was designed by Ron Dirsmith, who later became a member. Its application of natural beauty, simplicity, and cavernous depth make for an architecture that is unlike any other church building.

The 23 fused glass window panels (pictured right) by designer Bob White were added later as they were completed. The artist aspired to display a story of human dignity and worth, of the majesty of human discovery, and of the ineffable beauty of the universe we are privileged to inhabit. We are also proud that our church and sanctuary received a Green Sanctuary certification for their use of environmentally-conscious practices.
